Borikén Restaurant and Bar is a celebration of Puerto Rican heritage, flavor, and unity right in the heart of Staten Island, NY. Founded by three proud Boricuas, Al Rosario, owner of Kiosko 787 in Brooklyn, and Richard Astudillo & Sophie Serrano, owners of Counter & Bodega, Borikén is more than just a restaurant; it’s a collaboration born from passion, culture, and a deep love for our island.

Rather than compete, these two powerhouse teams came together with a shared mission: to bring authentic Puerto Rican cuisine and craft cocktails to Staten Island in a setting that honors our Taíno roots and the vibrant spirit of our people.

With decades of combined experience, the Borikén team knows what it takes to serve true Sabor Boricua. Al Rosario, a part-time resident of Puerto Rico, ensures each dish carries the soul of the island, while Richard and Sophie bring their creative mastery in the kitchen and behind the bar delivering both traditional favorites and Puerto Rican-inspired cocktails that awaken the senses.
